Visit to Stanford University

It was a rare opportunity for me to visit Stanford University, which we had visited long in 2003 with my daughter Sumedha Gogate.

Since then during so many visits to USA , we used to pass by stanford Campus many times, we did not visit it again. My grand daughter, Anusha is in high school, and she is planning to get admission in a reputed university. We visited UC Berkey in my trip last year and had planned to visit Stanford as I had attended a seminar by Dr. Nikit Abhyankar on Energy prospects for India and wanted to get connected with Environmental Dept there.

Pranav Kadam, son of Sushant's friend had come to our house for a short stay in summer vacation.

I was excited to revisit it after learning a lot about the legacy, educational courses and news about Industry - Institute Interaction at the university, attending some online courses in Environment and Energy.

Leland Stanford Junior University, commonly referred to as Stanford University, is a private research university in Stanford, California, United States. It was founded in 1885 by railroad magnate Leland Stanford (the eighth governor of and then-incumbent United States senator representing California) and his wife, Jane, in memory of their only child, Leland Jr. - Ref- Wikipedia

Map available at Visitor Center

We parked our car near visitor center, collected map and started walking to main central building. Just then, I saw Arrliga Alumni Center building. As we wanted to establish Walchand Alumni Guesthouse in Shilp Chintamani Soc, at Sangli. I decided to explore the facilities there.

Alumni Campus

Thus it has Memorial Centre, Amphitheatre, Library and magnificent two story Alumni office.
