My hostel life made me strong and resilient


I had decided to pursue chemistry as career at school level as I liked it most. After school and one and half year in college, we moved from Satara to Sangli due to transfer of my father and  I joined Willingdon college in second semester of Pre-Professional ( equivalent to 12 th now).

 I was dismayed to see the students working hard and preparing for engineering admission. I was swept in the  rush towards  engineering field along with my new friends.  Due to change in college and  sudden change in focus,  I could not get necessary merit for admission to our dream destination of Walchand College which was just in front of Willingdon college.

 My parents were reluctant and afraid to keep me away from house but allowed me to take admission in Karad Engg, College. I felt very happy to test  my first venture of staying away from protective house. I joined the college and started living in the hostel.

I was aloof and happy in studying alone and did not mix with other students due to my weakness in sports and body buildup. It was tough time for me  to accept taunts and abuse from senior students who were rulers in the hostel.  My sensitive mind  suffered blows from rude behavior of classmates who had come from Pune and Mumbai having modern and sophisticated  lifestyle than me. They laughed at my use of Sanskrit originated Marathi  language. They were using English  and colloquial Hindi words fluently while talking. They were also amused to listen to my childish thoughts in their sense.

I used to write my expectations of good friends from my bookish knowledge.  I was fond of Sane Guruji and  I wrote about the ideal friend and how he should protect and help in need. One day I showed my 3-4 pages of  this write up to my roommate to get his views. He read it with amusement and said ‘Excellent. We shall show it to all”

 I felt happy that he understood my feelings. In the night, he called all our friends in our room and my roommate introduced my writing about qualities of good friend.

He said he will read it and let it become memorable event for all of us. So to create atmosphere of worship and pious thoughts, he lit a candle and  we sat all around it with my roommate near candle at center. I was too glad to see the change in him.

But the plan was entirely different. He read my notes loudly with chorus laugh from all after each sentence.  After reading each page, he ceremoniously burned that page on candle with clappings from all. I was totally spellbound and  became a target of mockery.


I became very sad and ashamed of myself , but did not talk and made face of ignorant child. In the night, I thought over the incident and felt the futility of my trying to teach others. But after introspection, I could perceive their mindset and why they did not like my thoughts which were ideal and contrary to their normal behavior.

There was no point in changing their behavior and not possible for me also. What I have to do is to change myself. I have to learn their way of living.

With resolution, I trained my mind to accept what I did not like and soon became expert in their way of living. Using fancy colorful dress, talking semi-vulger and nasty language. My friends were surprised to find this change in me, but they liked me and soon  I became their best friend.

 Earlier they were giving me respect for my studious nature and academic skills. Now they took me as their friend.

 I could get transfer to Walchand College after two years in Karad, and I achieved my cherished goal. I even got opportunity to enjoy my role as  teacher in the college

Still I remember those Hostel days which changed my concepts from bookish to practical knowledge.I am thankful to my friends who transformed my mindset and made me strong and resilient  to face external world.

विज्ञानवादी सावरकर

सांगलीत २५ ऑगस्ट २०१३ रोजी निवृत्त अभियंता मंडळाच्या सांगली, कोल्हापूर व सातारा या संघटनांचे संयुक्त संमेलन झाले. त्यात एड्व्होकेट बाळासाहेब देशपांडे यांचे सावरकरांच्या कविता या विषयावर व्याख्यान ठेवले होते. त्या कार्यक्रमाचे अध्यक्षस्थान भूषविण्याची मला संधी मिळाली. सावरकरांविषयी मला हिंदु धर्माचे पुरस्कर्ते व स्वातंत्र्यासाठी आपल्या जिवाची वा कुटुंबाची तमा न बाळगता संघर्ष करणारे नेते यापलिकडे फारशी माहिती नव्हती.

बाळासाहेब देशपांडे यांनी सावरकरांच्या  काव्यरचनेचा प्रवास सांगताना त्यांचा सारा जीवनपटच उलगडून दाखविला व त्यांच्या  अलौकिक काव्यप्रतिभेचा प्रत्यय सर्व श्रोत्यांपर्यंत पोचविला. माझ्या भाषणात मी असे सुचविले की सावरकरांच्या या पैलूबरोबर त्यांच्या अंधश्रद्धा निर्मूलन व धर्मसुधारणाविषयक कार्याचीही माहिती लोकांपर्यंत पोचण्याची आवश्यकता आहे. कारण सावरकरांना अभिप्रेत असणारा हिंदू धर्म, सध्याच्या  जनमानसात हिंदू धर्माविषयी असणार्‍या कल्पनेहून फार भिन्न व उच्च दर्जाचा होता.

प्रस्तुत भाषणामुळे सावरकरांच्या सर्व कविता वाचण्याची मला हुरहुर लागली होती. इंटरनेटवर शोध घेताना बुकगंगा या संकेतस्थळावर सावरकरांच्या कविता हे पुस्तक मोफत वाचायला उपलब्ध आहे हेपाहून मला आनंद झाला हे पुस्तक डाऊनलोड करतानाच अंधश्रद्धा निर्मूलन भाग १ व भाग २ ही पुस्तके संकेतस्थळावर दिसली. डॉ. नरेंद्र दाभॊळकरांचा विषय ताजा असल्याने मी ती लगेच डाऊनलोड केली. मात्र ही पुस्तके सावरकरांनी लिहिली आहेत हे मला माहीत नव्हते. या कथा वाचल्यावर सावरकर यांच्या अंधश्रद्धांवर त्यांनी किती कठोर टीका केली आहे हे लक्षात आले. अधिक माहिती मिळण्यासाठी विज्ञान व सावरकर हे शब्द टाकून इंटरनेटवर शोध घेतला तेव्हा विकिपिडियामध्ये सावरकरांच्या  सावरकरांचा  वैज्ञानिक दृष्टीकोन आणि हिंदु धर्मातील  चुकीच्या रूढी व जातीधर्मातील विषमता यांच्या विरुद्धही त्यानी कसे उघडपणे बंड पुकारले होते याची माहिती मिळाली. त्यात असणारी काही  माहिती खाली देत आहे.

अंदमानातून सुटल्यानंतर सावरकरांना ब्रिटिशांनी रत्‍नागिरीत स्थानबद्ध केले (१९२४ जाने.६) . हिंदू समाज एकजीव आणि संघटित करण्यासाठी सावरकरांनी रत्‍नागिरीत राहून कार्य केले. हिंदू समाजाच्या अध:पतनाला जातिव्यवस्था, चातुर्वर्ण्य जबाबदार आहे, हे सावरकरांनी लक्षात घेऊन त्या विरोधात काम केले. हिंदू धर्मात जातिव्यवस्थेचे, विषमतेचे समर्थन आहे. त्यामुळेच हिंदूसंघटन करण्यासाठी सावरकरांनी धर्मचिकित्सेची तलवार उपसली.आपल्या लेखनाने कोणी सनातनी दुखावेल याची चिंता न करता अंधश्रद्धा, जातिभेद यांवर त्यांनी कडाडून टीका केली. स्वकीयातील जातीयतेवरपण निर्भीड टिका केली.

त्यांनी रत्नागिरीमधील वास्तव्यामध्ये अनेक समाजसुधारणा केल्या. जवळपास ५०० मंदिरे अस्पृश्यांसाठी खुली केली. अनेक आंतरजातीय विवाह लावले. अनेक सहभोजने आयोजित केली. त्यांनंतर सर्वांसाठी 'पतित पावन मंदिर' सुरू केले व सर्वांसाठी सामाईक भोजनालयही सुरू केले.

जातिभेद तोडण्यासाठी सहभोजनाचा धडाका उडवून दिला. रत्‍नागिरी येथे त्यांनी पतितपावन मंदिर स्थापन केले, या मंदिरात सर्व जातींच्या लोकांना प्रवेश दिला. सुमारे १५ आंतरजातीय विवाहही त्यांनी लावून दिले.

सावरकरांनी चालवलेल्या जात्युच्छेदन चळवळीने अस्वस्थ झालेल्या ब्राह्मणांनी लोणी येथे झालेल्या सनातनी परिषदेत सावरकरांना 'धर्मद्रोही' ठरवून 'त्यांना पेशवाई असती तर हत्तीच्या पायाखाली दिले गेले असते' असा ठराव मांडला. सावरकरांनी त्यावर 'शिवशाहीत अथवा, पहिल्या बाजीरावाच्या पेशवाईत आमच्यासारख्या हिंदू संघटकांना हत्तीच्या पाठीवरील अंबारीत मिरवले जाण्याचाच संभव अधिक होता' असे सडेतोड उत्तर दिले.

पूजा, पाठ, गौरी, गणपती, सोयरसुतक, संक्रांत, दिवाळी, दसरा, द्वादशी या धार्मिक कार्यक्रमांना भटांना बोलावणे बंद करून 'भटशाही' संपवावी असे मत मांडले.त्यासोबतच काशीतील ब्राह्मण महासंमेलनाची तुलना त्यांनी माकडांशी केली. त्यात 'काशीत दोन महासंमेलने भरली - एक माकड महासंमेलन आणि दुसरे भाकड महासंमेलन. माकडे परिवर्तनीय तरी आहेत. पण सनातनी तर काळ, वेळ, परिस्थिती या गोष्टीच बघत नाहीत. अशा वागण्यामुळे निदान काशीच्या भाकड महासंमेलनातील पंडित हे तरी माकडांची विकसित श्रेणी नसून तेथील माकडेच त्या पंडितांची विकसित श्रेणी आहे हे म्हणणे क्रमप्राप्त आहे' असे लिहित त्यांची विकेट घेतली.

वरील सर्व माहिती वाचल्यावर ही माहिती सध्याच्या हिंदू संघटना लोकांपर्यंत का नेत नाहीत असा मला प्रश्न पडला आहे.

मागोवा

सध्या टीव्हीवरील मालिका, व्हिडीओ, मालिका किंवा फोनवर गप्पाटप्पा यात बहुतेक वयस्कर मंडळी आपला रिकामा वेळ घालवत असतात. मला त्यात फारसा रस नसल्याने आपल्या गतजीवनाचा विचार करून त्यात रममाण होण्याचा मला छंद लागला आहे. येथे अमेरिकेत आल्यापासून बाहेरचे फारसे लोक भेटत नसल्याने आणि कोरोनाच्या स्थानबद्धतेमुळे नातेवाईक व मित्रमंडळीही फिरकत नसल्याने मला  माझ्या जीवनातील उतार चढाव पहायला व त्यावर विचार करायला भरपूर वेळ मिळतो.

पुढील वाटचालीसाठी मागील उपलब्धींचा विचार नेहमीच हिताचा असतो. मराठीत सिंहावलोकन असा शब्द वापरला जातो. हा शब्द उच्चारला की आपल्या डोळ्यांसमोर डोंगराच्या कड्यावर उभा राहिलेल्या सिंहाचे चित्र उमटते.


वर चढत जाणा-या सिंहासारख्या पराक्रमी व्यकतीच्या दृष्टीने हा शब्द योग्य असला तरी आपल्यासारख्या सर्वसामान्यांसाठी मागोवा हा शब्द मला अधिक समर्पक वाटतो.

जीवनातील उतार चढाव हे शब्द जर आपल्या प्रगतीचे निदर्शक मानले तर फार गमतीशीर निष्कर्ष काढता येतात.



बहुतेक नोकरदार मध्यम वर्गातील व्यक्तींच्या बाबतीत शिक्षणाचा काळ चढावाचा व नंतरचा सर्व काळ सपाट व निवृत्तीनंतरचा काळ उताराचा झात असल्याचे जाणवते.

 चढ म्हणजे   ज्यासाठी श्रम आणि निर्धाराची स्वार्थत्यागाची गरज लागते अशा अभ्यास, प्रयत्न वा धडपड या कृती आणि उतार म्हणजे मिळविलेल्या संपत्तीचा उपभोग, ज्ञानाच्या आधारे आनंद देणा-या  मनोरंजन, खाणे पिणे वा आराम करणे असे मानले तर बहुतेकांची वाटचाल   गरीबी किंवा बौद्धिक दिवाळखोरीकडे होत असते.

मागोवा घेताना आपल्या पाठीमागे उंच डोंगर आमि पुढे खोल दरी दिसली तर
         'कोण होतास तू, काय झालास तू '
यासारखे सारे गमावणे किंवा जगाच्या तुलनेत अज्ञानी ठरणे या गोष्टी मग नशिबी येतात.

याउलट मागे दरी व पुढे डोंगर असेल तर माणसाला शिखरावर जाण्याचे ध्येय राहते. तो व तेवढ्याच उत्साहाने जीवनात कार्यरत राहतो. चढण्यातील श्रमात वा दुःख सोसण्यात एक वेगळाच आनंद असतो.

सुदैवाने माझी मनस्थिती वर चढणा-या मुसाफिरासारखी आहे व मला ती अध्यात्मापेक्षा जास्त आनंद देते. आपण इतरांचे आयुष्य फुलविण्याल मदत केली तर तो आनंद द्विगुणित होतो.

 माझ्याबाबतीत तर अनेक विद्यार्थी व माझे सहकारी माझ्या मार्गदर्शनाची मागणी करून मला मोठेपणा देत असतात त्यामुळे मला कृतार्थ जीवन जगण्याचे समाधान लाभत आहे.त्यांच्याकडे पाहिले की मला त्यांच्यापुढील डोंगर माझे वाटू लागतात. मी त्यांना हार न मानता चढण्याचा व श्रम करण्याचा फक्त सल्ला देतो. पण मला त्यात फार समाधान वाटते व त्यांच्याप्रमाणेच मानसिकदृष्ट्या का होईना मी धडपढत राहण्याचा आनंद लुटतो.

Traditional timetable necessary for Learn From Home

After experience of Work from Home and Learn from Home experiments in last two months, I have come to a conclusion that traditional timetable  system   adopted in schools and colleges must be adopted to achieve significant improvement in output.

In a normal school or college, the day’s schedule is divided in six to eight lessons for theoretical work and three to four blocks for practical or project work.

Benefit of keeping the lesson limited to 40 minutes or one hour and changing the subject for each lesson is suited for learning different subjects simultaneously and keeping  interest alive without stress and boredom of continuous attention.



In schools, right from first standard, students learn many subjects without any extra efforts. Simple self learning activity like reading a book cannot be continued more than one hour. Without break. Writing, understanding or problem solving also gives maximum output in short spans.

Change of subject gives new inspiration to each session and the topics keep lingering in mind even during differenr sessions thus giving time to ponder and digest them indirecltly by subconscious mind at its own pace even when active brain is learning new things not related to  those subjects.

I use the same technique for studying or correspondence with preplanned change in topic every one or two hours with a gap of other  household  activities. 

That is why, I can learn  and remain engaged in productive work for more than 10 hours a day. I found that many people trying to study or work on one topic cannot do so more than four hours. I have found that our mind requires some thought to chew over and this variety of topics give a fine combination for remaining engaged with pleasure.

I strongly feel that work assignment in learning should be subdivided in many different topics with short durations like school system even in Learn from Home  or Work from Home scenarios.

 This however, requires preplanning  in details for entire week in advance. The concept of syllabus with units and hours required is more essential  and should be strictly followed with different teachers or work environments and topics .

I feel this will help the speed of learning from home similar to actual school, college or office.

Staying abroad – then act like Kachadeva

There is an interesting story in puranas about Kachadeva and Devayani....

Kachadeva was  son of Brahaspati, the Guru of Devas and  Devayani was daughter of Shukracharya, the Guru of Rakkshasas ( Danavas).

 Shukracharya knew a Sanjeevani mantra which had the power to revive the dead back to life.

Therefore, whenever there was war, the Rakshasas who were killed were brought back to life, whereas Devas lost  their lives. Devas decided to send Kachadeva as a disciple of Shukracharya and told him to tactfully learn the Sanjeevani mantra. Kachadeva went to Shukracharya and introduced himself as the son of Brahaspati and requested Shukracharya to accept him as a disciple. By seeing obedient and clever Kachadeva, Devayani fell in love with him.

The Rakshasas came to know that Kachadeva is the son of their enemy and decided to kill him. They found him alone in the forest and cut his body into pieces. When the cattle returned home without Kachadeva, Devayani was anxious. She told her father that someone must have killed Kachadeva. She asked her father to revive his life as she is in love with him. So Shukracharya used his mantra and revived Kachadeva.

Rakshasas became angry. This time, they killed him and burnt his body and mixed the ashes with a drink and offered it Shukracharya. Again Devayani pleaded with her father to revive Kachadeva. He chanted the sanjeevani mantra. Kachadeva being in his stomach  learned it thoroughly. He came out tearing away Shukracharya's body. Kachadeva chanted the mantra and revived Shukracharya back to life but decided to return home. But Devayani asked him to marry her. Kachadeva refused saying Devayani is like a sister to him as he was born through Shukracharyas stomach.

 He returned to Devas and taught Sanjeevani to them.  The story goes ahead and takes many turns ---
 After reading story,  and seeing the brain drain from India to advance foreign countries, it occurred to me that Kachadeva should be the ideal for those who are fortunate to get lucrative jobs and comfortable life abroad and are using their talent to create wealth there.

They need not return but can transfer knowledge and help unemployed but educated youth in India. There presence in foreign countries will then be a boon to India.

Self study – a difficult but essential skill


The present education system fully relies on mass spoon feeding concept which helps students to grasp the subject details without any efforts and accelerates their learning speed. However, there are many drawbacks in the system.  Most important is the loss of confidence in learning from books and internet.

There are plenty of resources for learning with latest changes in concepts and technology and students should be trained to study in solo. There may be initial hurdles like lack of patience and hard work, frustration due to failure in grasping the content, ignorance about problem solving resources and links,. But once, we overcome these hurdles, we can learn any subject at our own pace and convenience.
The first thing that we have to do is to minimize the mass communication channels like newspaper, TV and mobile. They are time killers and make you customers. Use notebook or laptop and start studying through books and net resources. You will have additional advantage of recording and saving the work and documents, doing your own quest and trials and create new content.
Corona lockdown should be used to make this transformation in mindset of all to become self relient like Ekalavya in learning.

कोयना धरण बांधकाम आणि वालचंद कॉलेज


व्हाट्सएपवर कोयना धरण बांधकामाची चित्रफीत पहायला मिळाली.

कोयना धरण बांधकामाची चित्रफीत पाहिली आणि माझ्या जुन्या स्मृती जाग्या झाल्या. १९५६ पासूनच या धरणाविषयी माहिती कानावर पडत होती. कारण आम्ही ज्या फणसळकर वाड्यात रहात होतो. त्यांचे जावई श्री कापरे कोयना प्रकल्पावर काम करीत होते.वालचंद कॉलेजमध्ये प्रा. सखदेव व तलाठी सर यांचा कोयना धरणाच्या उभारणीत सहभाग होता. प्रा. ब्रह्मनाळकर उकाई धरणाची माहिती सांगायचे. प्रा. बर्वे मिलिटरीतून तर प्रा. गोळे बॉर्डर रोड कामाचा अनुभव घेऊन आले होते.

 त्यावेळचे बहुतेक सर्व प्राध्यापक प्रत्यक्ष अनुभव घेतलेले होते. त्यमुळे त्यांच्या शिकविण्यात आत्मविश्वास होता व त्यांचे ज्ञान केवळ पुस्तकी वव्हते. दॉ. सुब्बाराव यांचेबरोबर प्रत्यक्ष कामाची संधी मिळाल्याने मलाही खूप फायदा झाला. आयआयटीच्या विद्यार्यांपेक्षा वालचंदचे विद्यार्थी अधिक भाग्यवान होते. आता असे शिक्षणाऐवजी व्यवसायात अनुभव असणारे प्राध्यापक कमी असल्याने तसेच अभ्यासक्रमाचे ओझे वाढल्याने विद्यार्थी पुस्तकी बनत आहेत.

 निवृत्त अनुभवी इंजिनिअर्सना या कामी कॉलेजने आपल्या शश्रणप्रक्रियेत सामावून घेण्याची गरज आहे. ज्ञानदीप फौंडेशनने नवनिर्मिती व स्वयंरोजगार योजना सुरू करून असा समन्वय साधण्याचे उद्दीष्ट छेवले आहे. – डॉ. सु. वि. रानडे

नाम, सर्वनाम यांची विभक्तीरूपे आणि धातूंची कालार्थ रुपे

संस्कृत व्याकरण शिकण्यासाठी नाम, सर्वनाम यांची विभक्तीरूपे आणि धातूंची कालार्थ रुपे यांचा अभ्यास आवश्यक असतो.

प्रत्येक नाम विभक्तीत एकवचन, द्विवचन व बहुवचन अशी प्रथमा ते संबोधन पर्यंत २४ रुपे असतात.

नामांचे स्वरान्त व व्यंजनान्त असे अनेक प्रकार असून पुंलिंगी, स्त्रीलिंगी व नपु. लिंगी रुपे वेगवेगळीआहेत.

सर्वनामांच्या बाबतीत प्रथमा पासून सप्तमीपर्यंत २१ रुपे असतात. '

संस्कृत धातू दहा गणात विभागले असून त्यांची एकूण संख्या सुमारे २००० आहे, या धातूंची वर्तमानकाळ, प्रथम भूतकाळ, आज्ञार्थ व विध्यर्थ अशी कालार्थ रुपे तीन वचनात व प्रथम पुरूष, द्वितीय पुरूष व तृतीय पुरूष अशा प्रकारात वेगवेगळी असतात.

शब्दरूपे करण्याचे नियम असले तरी अ्शी रुपे पाठ करणे अधिक सोयीस्कर असते. त्यांचे उच्चार समजणेही गरजेचे असते. या ऍपमध्ये सर्व प्रमुख नामे, सर्वनामे व धातू यांची रूपे ध्वनीफितींसह दिलेली आहेत,

हवा तो शब्द वा धातू निवडण्याची सोय यात केली आहे.

Don’t break but strengthen the roots of homeland


I have observed a general tendency that the people migrating from village to city, city to megacity, state to other state or even country to other country try to dispose of their belongings and property due to problems of maintenance or security. This action indirectly cuts off  their relation to local people and acquaintances, it also destroys the supportive physical environment where they lived and the memories of that period. This leads to total detachment from their original native place  causing significant loss to their past life memories.

 In the prime of life, people do not worry much about such loss and feel to be freed from unnecessary botheration. However, in the old age, when past memories only serve as an important  treasure for happiness, they feel the pinch of such loss. The future generations remain totally unaware about the life of parents and the social environment which molded their personalities.


We do understand the importance of preserving archeological structures and artifacts as they reveal the history and cultural achievements. We also preserve the statues,  swords and dresses of historical warriors or usual personal belongings like pen, specks, chair, or house  of great  personalities only with the idea that the memory of their great deeds become alive and inspiring.


Though ordinary persons don’t have deeds to be remembered by others, still every person loves his own childhood memories and family history. Preservation of the physical environment, photos and and description of memorable events in family have the same precious value for the next generation in that family and every effort should be made to preserve that treasure which depicts the old cultural and social ties.


Thus in my opinion, instead of cutting the roots and flying in the air without base, we should strengthen the roots, render help to those still in that undeveloped environment and create a permanent source for mental satisfaction and preservation of family heritage.We can also get the love and appreciation of our help and affinity by the people who are living there and they will help us keep our old memories strengthened and would welcome us whenever we visit that place.

In India, due to various reasons,there is no effective control on pollution due to industries and urban population, leading to heavy risk to public health and damage to natural resources.

Environmental Awareness
In order to create awareness about the deteriorating environmental quality and to motivate active participation of society in protecting environment, Govt. of India has introduced Environmental Studies as the common subject in the education system at all levels.

 Negative Impact
No doubt, it has created a positive impact on the society about the need of protecting environment, but there has been growth of social groups, NGOs who are opposing the development projects with a fear that development will lead to pollution and environmental degradation.

Need of Development
India needs rapid growth of industries, large scale housing construction activity and development of infrastructural facilities in water supply, energy, transportation and communication. This is necessary for eradication of poverty and employment generation. Development without environmental degradation is possible if environmental pollution technology is implemented with proper planning, strict monitoring and effective control.

Technology and Communication Gap
Unfortunately the environmental technology is a vast and dispersed field and need specialized knowledge of many basic sciences and technologies. The environmental managers and engineers, who design and execute projects are many a times, ill equipped with latest technologies, they are not trained to convince the decision makers about the importance of project. They also do not have good rapport with society and social groups for ensuring complete environmental protection and quality conservation. as a result the environmental issues are often taken as the main reasons for opposing any development due to ignorance about capability of environmental protection technology for sustainable development.

Focus on Sustainable Development
With this aim in mind, we have started redesigning our www.envis.org  web portal to focus on training of  the environmental engineers, technocrats and project managers about the environmental problems, causes and solutions to speed up sustainable development in India.

New Culture of Work from Home in Indian Context

Corona Lockdown

Corona Lockdown has become a major blow to Megacities and MNCs. Concentration of workforce and building of smart cities was considered to be most effective, economical and socially acceptable option of business growth. Many MNCs have invested in Smart City projects with the idea of pooling human resources together and manage them as parts of huge business machine

.However, to me, it was human attempt to try nature's experiment with Dinosour species.
Sudden death of dinosors was topic of my blog in which I had contemplated as victory of  numerous small industries over mighty MNCs through cooperative movement



Corona could be considered as natures corrective action to destroy concentration of human species and avoiding growth of military powers of nations. Mother nature is wise to protect earth and its biodiversity including geographical distribution, privacy and freedom of species.


Indian Context


The new Work from Home culture is totally new to India. In western and advanced countries, use of internet and computers has become an essential part of life and they will be able to easily adopt Work from Home culture.



Rapid adoption of  mobile as communication media and TV  for news and entertainment by Indian population   is mainly due to investment and marketing efforts by MNCs for sale of goods and services. The businesses and government still works mainly with print media and use of computers as typing machines. That is the reason, there are no computers in Indian homes except in high class societies. Even internet is used throght hot spot service of mobiles in many places.

This has created a very precarius condition due to sudden need of shifting to work from home without preintimation and availability of computers, internet and software support.

Education

Whatever is the case of office work, the same is for Education Field. Huge educational complexes   have grown with business view rather than for education with more attention to  big, specious buildings and amenities than qualified and experienced teachers.

  In India, students and their parents are happy with classes and tutions.  They should understand that it is only physical engagement on time basis but no assimilation by self.

Self study is neglected in India.This has to be taught. In USA, self study is promoted from KG level.


Dnyandeep Initiative

Dnyandeep Infotech and Dnyandeep Foundation have suffered a lot due to exodus of their best workforce to megacities and  remained at existence level over the long period of 20 years, the period, during which startups in developed countries became global giants.

The lockdown also highlighted the reasons of failure in WORK FROM HOME model. Non availability of computers or internet, bandwidth and continuity problems, space and necessity of no disturbace zone in house, frequent house activities and human interactions and lack of pre-planning and reporting system, all led to total failure of the system.



Suggested pattern for Work from Home

Considering all these factors and also actual experience of workable system in USA I have decided to plan  40 hours flexible workload per week with proper planning and intermittent online  reporting, I propose that Work at home  or learning at home has to be split in 4 blocks of 2 hours each day. The work or learning should be preplanned and reviewed after every block by teacher or manager.

The block timings should  flexible and students or workers have to decide and inform higher-ups.
This will ensure free focused working and would not require internet continuity.

The planning shall be for 5 day week. But the students and workers can use any 5 days in 7 days of week.

Dnyandeep scheme for Learning and Freelance Work has to develop such system and create a model for online business and guided self learning throgh teams of managers and teacher cum monitors. Suggestions for developing such a robust system will go along way in strengthening both education and work in India on Work from Home pattern.
