उद्धवा, अजब तुझे सरकार !	Oh God ! your governance is strange
उद्धवा, अजब तुझे सरकार ! लहरी राजा, प्रजा आंधळी, अधांतरी दरबार !	Oh God ! your governance is strange, The ruler  is moody, The subject is blind, and the court  lies suspended in space
इथे फुलांना मरण जन्मता दगडाला पण चिरंजीविता बोरीबाभळी उगाच जगती, चंदनमाथि कुठार !	Flowers here are doomed to die, But stones are blessed with immortality, Wild shrubs live without purpose, But sandlewood  gets cut by axe
लबाड जोडिति इमले माड्या गुणवंतांना मात्र झोपड्या पतिव्रतेच्या गळ्यात धोंडा, वेश्येला मणिहार !	Corrupt build houses and tall buildings, Poor have to live only in huts, Honest wife makes suicide with stone in well But a prostitute gets precious necklace
वाइट तितुके इथे पोसले भलेपणाचे भाग्य नासले या पृथ्वीच्या पाठीवर ना माणसास आधार !	All those bad, get  here well fed But good have to face rotten life There is nobody to help to honest man in this world.
