आई तुझी आठवण येते	Oh! My mother, I miss you very much
आई तुझी आठवण येते सुखद स्मृतींच्या कल्लोळांनी काळीज तळतळ तुटते	Oh! My mother! I miss you very much Memories of happy events with you create turmoil in my heart
वात्सल्याचा कुठें उमाळा, तव हातांचा नसे जिव्हाळा हृदयामचे मम होऊन पाणी, नयनी दाटून येते	I seek your surge of love, lack lovely touch of your hands My heart melts in sorrow flooding my eyes with tears
आई तुझ्याविण जगीं एकटा, पोरकाच मज म्हणति करंटा व्यथा मनींची कुणास सांगूं, काळीज तिळतिळ तुटतें	I am alone without you, feel orphan and cursed Whom should I tell my sorrow, my heart gets cut bit by bit
हाक मारितो 'आई' 'आई', चुके लेकरू सुन्या दिशाही तव बाळाची हांक माउली नच कानीं येते	I call you by name, your kid has lost it's path and can't find the way Oh, mother ! How you can't hear your kids calling
सुकल्या नयनी नुरले पाणी, सुकल्या कंठी उमटे वाणी मुकें पाखरू पहा मनाचें जागीं तडफड करतें	My eyes are dry due to long lost tears, no sound comes through my dried throat My mind struggles in vain like a bird who lost its sound
नको जीव हा नकोच जगणें, आईवाचुन जीवन मरणें एकदांच मज घेई जवळीं पुसुनी लोचनें मातें	No life or wish to live, life is death without you Oh mother, atleast once take me in your lap and wipe my eyes.
