Walchand Heritage and Innovation Centre

This is a dream project of Dnyandeep Foundation to create new culture of creativity and entrepreneural leadership in educational system.

Preamble
Sangli is known as a birthplace for creativity in all sectors like Education, sports, arts and drama, social harmony and cooperative movement.

It has become a cluster of educational institutes in engineering, medical, arts and management colleges and many reputed schools.

Walchand College of Engineering has a glorious history of dedication, innovative teaching experiments blending industry institute ionteraction with active participation of students and guidance of teachers. The college contributed in development of new technologies and engineering products helped in solving problems of industries, government agencies and national engineering projects. The golden period of such activity was during 1970 to 2000.

It is proposed to track the achievements of that period as regards realtionship between administration, teacher and students, development of new technologies and innovative products, consultation and social interaction and   promotion to startup industries by past students.

This would require contribution from retired teachers as well as past students who have been the pioneers in this effort.

The name Walchand Heritage is given only to acknowledge the pioneering path setting work done in Walchand College, but the scope of innovation centre is global and assumes horizontal and vertical integration of education system.

 Creativity starts at school stage and integration of schools and higher education institutes as regards motivation, knowledge and material resource availability, guidance and promotion to group activity should be ensured.

Methodology

 This can be achived by

. Inter communication and collaboration with schools, colleges and research institutes
. Establishment of Science and Technology Exploratory for discimination of knowledge
. Hobby workshops with necessary facilities at school level
. Facility of conducting seminars and training programs

The project will be coordinated by a group of senior professors under the leadership of Prof. B. D. Kelkar. Marathi Vidnyan Prabodhini who is actively engaged in such activites at school level in Sangli for last 30 years has agreed to collaborate and allow its office  near Ashok Automobiles, Station road Sangli to be used as a meeting place.

Dnyandeep Foundation shall help in data compilation, analysis and develop necessary networking and communication facilities.

In the initial stages all the data, contacts, activity information will be published on www.walchandalumni.com website under 'Innovation Center' section.

I appeal to all for suggesting modifications or additions in the proposed work plan for establishing Walchand Heritage Innovation Centre.

I am giving Rs. 1 lakh as seed capital for thjs project. Help from all in building this project by actual participation or financial support will be highly appreciated.

In future, I dream that, the centre will be established as an independent   educational creativity research centre with its own building, administrative board and staff.
