Keep time distance between Stimulus and Response

While following keeping distance rule to avoid Corona spread, I thought that this can be useful if we follow this principle to avoid crises due to verbal arguments also.

In Sanskrit, we have such advice in a verse

सहसा विदधीत न क्रियामविवेकः परमापदां पदम् |

It is generally observed that people react immediately to any provocative news, abuse or criticism either in personal communication or in media channels. This is natural and shows that Newton's third law "Any action creates equal and opposite reaction" is applicable in human behavior also.

However, this aggravates the crisis, invites tightened rebound and sometimes damages our reputation or good relations.

Many family disputes, social discord and political turmoil has roots in spontaneous reactions. Even the physical attack, or wars at international level are triggered by such insane and thoughtless responses.

Man can think. Then why not think before giving  reaction, response or passing remark. If we follow the principle of keeping time distance between stimulus and response,  we get enough time to comprehend the pravocating action and can fully understand the consequences of reaction. This helps us to compose our response to suit the situation in our favor.
