Walk Alone

My humble attempt of translating Marathi Poem to reveal its meaning for non Marathi readers.

चाल एकला , चाल एकला चाल एकला रे मना चाल एकला . . . कोणी न येती तुज सावरण्या सारे टपले निंदा करण्या ऐकू नको त्याजला ऐकू नको त्याजला रे मना चाल एकला . . . १ कष्टाची तू करी ना क्षिती यशोवेली ही फुले निश्चिती यत्नचि हो सुफला यत्नचि हो सुफला रे मना चाल एकला . . . २ उपरोधे मग हासुनि बघती मानी न तू त्याला कदाचित् त्या पुढच्या वळणी संधि उभी ती तुझिया पुढती घेऊनि वरमाला घेऊनि वरमाला रे मना चाल एकला . . . ४ सशापरी तू धरी ना गती कूर्माची त्या धरी संगती देवचि साहाय्याला देवचि साहाय्याला रे मना चाल एकला . . . ५ कुतूहले मग विचारताती कैसी झाली इतुकी प्रगती सांगा आम्हाला सांगा आम्हाला रे मना चाल एकला . . . ६ प्रगती पाहूनी हर्ष होऊनी तुजसाठी मग येई धावूनी जग हे मदतीला जग हे मदतीला रे मना चाल एकला . . . ७ रीत जगाची ऐसी आहे विचार परि तू करूनी पाहे क्षमा करी त्याजला क्षमा करी त्याजला रे मना चाल एकला . . . ८

Walk alone, my dear mind walk alone People may laugh or criticize Or create fun of your work They may think that your work is foolish But don’t listen to them, and continue your work Who knows, opportunity might be standing At the next turn with a gift of great success  Don't run like rabbit Adopt steadyness of turtle God will help you in your efforts Hence keep working in your way If you do some progress Or achieve something The people will start inquiring How you could do it If you reach high altitudes in achievements The same people will start praising you and will take pride in relation with you They will come to help you With motive only to share your success Forgive them, don’t abuse or Remind them of their behavior at start Keep in mind that World always behaves in this way Please forgive them, Don't get carried away by their praise Keep walking on your way Walk alone , my dear mind walk alone.
